Monika Johnson-Hostler
Monika Johnson-Hostler, a product of North Carolina, embodies a lifelong commitment to advocacy and community service. As the first in her family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Fayetteville State University and later a Master's in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University, Monika's journey has been defined by a relentless pursuit of education and service.
For two decades, she led the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault, championing survivor rights and shaping legislation to protect victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and advocating for the revocation of consent. Her impact extends nationally, having served on committees under former President Barack Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder, contributing significantly to the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.
Monika’s dedication to building partnerships is evident through her role as a managing partner at RALIANCE, aimed at ending workplace harassment and misconduct. She stands as a beacon in the fight for gender equity, contributing to campaigns like NO MORE and serving as a policy consultant to the National Hockey League.
Her commitment to her community is exemplified through her tenure on the Wake County Public School System Board. As Chairwoman, she secured vital school construction bonds and spearheaded initiatives focused on equity and student achievement.
Now running for the NC House, Monika seeks to continue her unwavering dedication to serving District 33, leveraging her vast experience and passionate advocacy to champion the needs of her constituents.
